America - The colonists were blessed with fantastic leadership such as George Washington, Ben Franklin, and even others from other countries. Marquis de Lafayette was a great general and aid to the American cause during the revolutionary time. The large land mass of the Americans caused them to have an advantage over the British army who sought to overtake them. Fighting a defensive war was easy to manage on such a large land mass. Finally, the Americans fought with vigor in their veins because they were fighting for their purpose in life and their freedom while the Bits were fighting out of military duty.
Britain - Britain had a much larger army at their disposal and their army was well trained, unlike the militiamen of the colonies. Aside from the large and well-trained army, the British had the world's greatest naval fleet. Alongside raw strength in their navy and army, Britain had an advantage over the colonies in their Loyalists. Loyalists were extremely helpful to the British in attempting to bring down the operations of the rebels.
